Sunisa was featured in a November 2005 article in the Manassas Journal Messenger on local artists at the Northern Virginia Handcrafter’s Guild Thanksgiving Art and Craft Showcase in Vienna.
“Orchids: A Cultural Odyssey”
Sunisa was honored to be invited to display her work February 6 through April 11, 2010 at the U.S. Botanic Garden. This exhibit was a collaborative effort of the U.S. Botanic Garden and the Smithsonian Institution Horticultural Services Division and featured orchids in arts, literature, exploration, jewelry, trade, and business.
Additional Awards at Orchid Shows
Sunisa has sold clay orchids at several orchid society shows, including the National Capital Orchid Society, the Virginia Orchid Society and the Maryland Orchid Society.
February 2008 Virginia Orchid Society Show
Three of our clay orchid arrangements took the top three prizes in the Sculpture category at the Virginia Orchid Society Show February 22-24, 2008 in Richmond, Virginia.
October 2007 National Capital Orchid Society Show
In October 2007 the National Capital Orchid Society Show awarded one of Sunisa’s creations, the Beallara Tahoma Glacier arrangement, First Prize and “Best Decorative Art”.
February 2007 Virginia Orchid Society Show
In February 2007, Sunisa entered two of her arrangements in the art competition at the Virginia Orchid Show in Richmond. One of her arrangements, Rhynchostylis Gigaatea, won first prize for “Best Art Original” and also the highest honor, “Best Artwork in Show”. Another arrangement, Paphiopedilum (Lady Slippers), was awarded an Honorable Mention at the same show.

September 2014 Artsfest ‘14
In September 2014, Sunisa was presented with the “Arts Council of Calvert County Best of Show Award”.
